1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in using Google, we receive your basic profile information (name and email) from your Google account.

1.2 Email-Based Transaction Data

With your explicit permission, BachatAI accesses your Gmail account to read transaction-related emails from banks, payment services, and merchants. This is how we automatically detect and track your expenses. We only read emails that match transaction patterns (such as payment confirmations, bank alerts, and receipts). We do not read, store, or access any other emails — personal conversations, work emails, newsletters, or any non-financial messages are never accessed.

Specifically, we access Gmail data to:

• Detect income and expense transactions automatically
• Extract transaction amounts, merchant names, dates, and categories
• Provide you with spending insights and budget tracking

You can revoke this permission at any time from your Google Account settings or from within the BachatAI app.

1.3 Financial Data You Create

When you use the App, you may create budgets, saving goals, planned payments, and categorize transactions. This data is generated by you within the App and is stored to provide you with the service.

1.4 AI Chat Data

When you interact with BachatAI's AI advisor, your messages and the AI's responses are processed to provide personalised financial advice. We may use anonymised and aggregated chat patterns to improve the AI's quality, but we never share your individual conversations with third parties.

1.5 Device & Usage Information

We automatically collect device type, operating system version, app version, and general usage analytics (such as which features you use and how often). This helps us improve the App and fix bugs. We do not collect your location data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide automatic expense tracking and financial insights
• Power the AI financial advisor with personalised recommendations
• Enable budget creation, saving goals, and payment tracking
• Send you relevant notifications (budget alerts, payment reminders)
• Improve and maintain the App's performance and features
• Respond to your support requests
• Process subscription payments (handled by Google Play / Apple App Store)

3. What We Do NOT Do

• We do not sell your personal data to anyone
• We do not share your financial data with advertisers
• We do not access your bank account or banking credentials
• We do not read non-financial emails
• We do not collect your location data

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and encryption at rest to protect your information. Access to user data is restricted to authorised personnel only and is limited to what is necessary to operate and improve the service.

5. Third-Party Services

BachatAI uses the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth & Gmail API — for authentication and reading transaction emails (with your permission)
• Google Play / Apple App Store — for subscription payment processing
• Analytics services — for anonymous usage analytics to improve the App

These third-party services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

6. Google API Services - Limited Use Disclosure

BachatAI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

• We only use Gmail data to provide and improve the expense tracking feature
• We do not use Gmail data for advertising purposes
• We do not allow humans to read your Gmail data unless required for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or with your explicit consent
• We do not transfer Gmail data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete all your personal data and transaction history within 30 days. Some anonymised, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes but cannot be linked back to you.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correct — update or correct inaccurate information
• Delete — request complete deletion of your account and all associated data
• Revoke permissions — disconnect Gmail access at any time from your Google Account settings or within the App
• Opt out — unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time

9. Children's Privacy

BachatAI is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you through the App. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information.
